Fran Claro is a writer and cook who lives in Irvington, New York where she dreams up Italian feasts for her extended family.

She wrote The Italian Pantry between 2006 and 2011: 51 stories about the nonnas of South Brooklyn in the 1940s and ’50s, each one ending with a recipe.
